6. Correspondences-
a draft timetable of Bishop Christine’s visit in June was circulated. ‘Adding Value’, a leaflet which aims to explain how the parish share is used. Mike also pointed out that we are the only deanery in the diocese to have paid 100% of our parish share for the last two years and that we are being held up as a good example to others.

7. Reports
• Warden –
thanked John for helping with the wording for the lych gate plaque which has now been ordered. Bill explained that the tiles beside the altar are slowly having the polish removed. Mr and Mrs Little have been awarded the contract to maintain the churchyard at a cost of £1512 for 18 x 8 hour visits. As a result of this much increased cost it was decided that the Parish Council should be approached for an increase in the annual amount they donate.

Tax rebate £1750.83 (2015)
Christine’s Palm Crosses £14.60
100 club £630
Burial of Ashes – Mary Vickers £111
Hayes and Finch £138.92 + £35 = £173.92
Churchyard bin £28
NPower 1st quarter £82.06
NE Fire Ltd (extinguisher service) £48

• Events –
this coming Saturday’s event (Eggstraordinary Spring Fair) is in hand.
Afternoon Tea is being advertised in the Pelican.
ACT is holding an event on the Saturday before our planned summer fair to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday and there was much discussion about cancelling the 11th June and providing refreshments for this earlier celebration. The final decision is to be left to the events committee, but the PCC were more in favour of joining with ACT and having a tombola, bottle stall and cake stall. Mike then suggested we could hold some other fund raiser in the vicarage to help make up any short fall this incurred.

8. Vicar’s slot-
Revd June Barras is to be invited to be an ex-officio member of the PCC as she is now our village hall representative.
The APCM is this Sunday and Mike is concerned that not having enough volunteers to fill all the necessary posts could result in making us vulnerable and trigger a summons from the archdeacon. It is also felt that Bill is being expected to take on too much by himself.

9. Any other business –
John has been given a large quantity of quiz material and has used it to produce a selection of quizzes for forthcoming events.

10. Date of next meeting –
arranged 25th May 2016 at 2pm

11. Closing prayers –
the meeting closed at 3.20pm
