03- Apologies – as Pat is still poorly her apologies were recorded.

04- Minutes of the last meeting - Bill’s name was added to the list of PCC members and the spelling of Barbara Cock’s name was corrected.

05- Matters arising from minutes -
• Ideas from our ‘Mission Action Plan’ were covered by Roger (Vicar’s slot)
• Update on the lych gate-John has completed all the necessary paper work for the church authorities and a faculty has been given. We therefore have the legal right to carry out the work within the next six months. A letter has been sent to the ‘War Memorial Trust Scheme’ who could give us a grant of up to 75% of the cost (which is roughly £6,000) and a reply should arrive within 6 weeks of the deadline date May 31st. John has also written to Acklington Parish Council- no reply, French Company which owns the prison- no reply, Rev Parker- he would like more information. HUGE thanks go to John for all the time he has spent completing forms and sending letters.

06- Correspondences -
• £300 received from the Deanery Synod Fund to pay for heating which will hopefully encourage children to attend church.
• Christine Shield’s ordination on July 5th 2015. 13 tickets to be allocated to Warkworth and 7 to Acklington. Mike went through the arrangements for the day and anyone interested to let him know. As most clergy will be attending it was agreed that there would be no service at church that Sunday.

07- Reports –
• Warden
– two roof leak repairs have been carried out. Grass has been cut three times and Bill to ask that the new grave yard to be cut more frequently too. Thanks to Bill for all his work especially since he is doing the job by himself.
• Treasurer
– Acklington has been mentioned and thanked at the Deanery Synod for now paying the annual quota in instalments during the year.
- Felton History Society, through David Bradbrook, has completed a register of St John’s grave yard and it was agreed to give them a donation. Copies are available for sale, one is in church and one will go to Woodhorn for anyone to access.
- Income – Valentine lunch £426.20 / Lemington Male voice choir £470.50 / 100 Club £610 / Easter Egg raffle £70 / Deanery Synod Donation £300
- Expenditure – Extinguishers £48 / Northumbrian Water £98.50 / Hayes and Finch £65.57 / Architect £550
Quota £5898 / Oil £419.48 / Bibles x2 £49.98
- 2015 Insurance to be £2523.95
Thanks to Joan for all her work.
• DBS – Janet Bell is now the officer
• Events – Summer Fayre on 6th June need more help on stalls. Guyzance afternoon tea has been cancelled due to changes at the hall. Scarecrow event in August to be advertised in next Pelican.

08- Vicar’s slot - given over to Roger to give the PCC his expert help regarding improvements within church and how to fund such alterations. Roger has very kindly agreed to complete a survey and write a report with his recommendations. Until this has been received no quotes will be obtained from heating or joinery firms. Although nothing was decided, the following are some of the points Roger gave us to think about-
• Heat deficit needs to be calculated so the number of radiators can be worked out. The present heating system could be adapted to accommodate extra radiators but ultimately a new system would be needed.
• As a ‘place of worship’ there are restrictions of grant funding, however, grants are available. ‘Awards for all,’ give smaller grants and have a six week turn around.
• Adding more radiators would obviously increase the amount of oil needed.
• Drainage for a kitchen and toilet block needs to be considered and a septic tank would be cheaper than taking pipework round the church yard to the main sewer.
• As a Grade 2 listed building DSE must give permission for any alteration but that shouldn’t be a problem.
• HUGE thanks were given to Roger for his time and expertise.

09- Any other business - Prayer list was discussed and reduced as many thereon were much improved.
Janet to produce a blank six month sides persons rota for volunteers to fill in for themselves.

10- Date of next meeting – arranged for 7pm on 22nd July 2015 at Moira’s.

11- Closing prayers - led by Revd. Mike Dent. The meeting closed at 8.30pm.
