The village was swarming with parishioners and visitors
all eager to hear some fine music from talented performers.

The sweet sound of the Northumbrian Pipes filled the village hall rafters.

The audience thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Northumbrian music.

Even Carrie the dog seemed entranced by the beautiful sounds.

The King Edward VI Community Jazz Band included very many young
and highly  talented musicians.

The village hall was packed and it was "standing room only"
as the band delighted everyone with their repertoire.

As it was such fine evening  the music lovers drifted into the community garden where barbecue smells abounded and the cool jazz music continued.  The saxophone soloist pictured opposite is parishioner Ingo Torbohm who played on into the evening sunset.

The day proved to be such an overwhelming success that residents were left hoping the music festival could become an annual fixture on the parish calendar. Thank you to all who organised and to all the artists who took part.  A particular thank you also to our sponsor for the day "Together Through Music".  Their support meant that all musical events on the day were free to the public.
