ACT CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL

It is the first time that ACT have put on this very different and unique event encouraging organisations and individuals to bring and decorate their own trees with any theme of choice.  We weren't disappointed with the number of entries - 13 - and were amazed at how people went about using their imagination and creativity to come up with something very different.  The hall was full either side with some wonderfully trees and gave a whole new meaning to togetherness.  Although their were fewer than expected numbers who came and had a look, those that did spent quite a while having a good look at what each tree meant and the items it was decorated with.  Refreshments were also served and many spent a while  sitting around, chatting and enjoying the unique atmosphere of the afternoon.
Thee had to be a winner and this was done by the voting of visitors.  The result was:
FIRST - WOMEN'S INSTITUTE                    SECOND - FIRST SCHOOL

Apart from the lights, everything                               The children had made small
else was hand-made by members using                    figurines in the shape of angels
very different mediums.                                                in white material with pictures of
                                                                                              their faces on them.
